Swim Carnival

Children diving into a pool
Jack stretches out to win the start.
Our annual swimming carnival in conjunction with Prairie SS, St Francis school, and the Distance Education group was held on 25th January 2018 at the Hughenden pool.
While Prairie SS won the day with some excellent performances, CDSS as runner-up was not far behind, and we were certainly enthusiastic on the day.
We saw some outstanding swimming from all our competitors; well done everybody. The level of persistence shown by our swimmers was terrific. We have a lot of junior swimmers at present, and when these tough little competitors grow to be stronger and better swimmers, we will be a force to be reckoned with.
Thanks to the teachers, teacher aides and parents who assisted at the carnival. Particular thanks to Brenda who does much of the technical organising in the background, and acts as the primary judge on the day.
Age Champions from CDSS on the day were:
6 Years - Hughie,
7 Years - Hunter,
8 Years – Jack.
Mackenzie received the junior Sportsmanship Award and Daniel W. received the senior Sportsmanship Award.
